Today we had a very special ride.
We have holidays here in China and we invited our friends from the other side of the Huangpu River to join us for a ride. Unfortunately weather wasn’t very nice but this didn’t scare our Pudong team to come! And they showed up in great number! We had in plan to do Drinkstand and Dianshan Lake starting from HQM. First part to the Drinkstand was ok but the closer we were getting to our usual stop the more water was attacking our bikes (and faces – free shower for everyone). We had one guy struggling so I rode with him as we don’t leave men behind! After getting to the Drinkstand safe we discussed our plans. Few of the guys had to be back at 11am. We decided to skip the lake (and good we did coz 4 Puxi riders went there and it was raining) and attack Songze Avenue. We drank, we ate and we continued our ride through the woods. We passed by Zhujiajiao and went directly to Songze. Ride was calm, not many traffic incidents (one guy in a bus was blind and deaf but nothing serious happened in the end). After going through Songze we decided to take Tianshan Lu which was packed with cars, scooters and pedestrians… One of our Pudong guests got a flat. Fast change of the tube and we were back on track. I followed guys to the ferry making sure they will get back home safe. We arrived at the ferry around 11am, exchanged goodbyes and we had to split as the ferry was honking to get last passengers on board. Ride was fun, great we could do it together. Pity weather was not very nice but we’ve made it in one piece! Thanks again to Pudong riders for visiting our side of the river! Hope to see you guys more often here!
