Today we had a very special ride organised by our friend – Felix. Unfortunately Felix will leave China next week so he planned to say a goodbye in a proper cycling way and he decided to take us for a ride to the sea. A nice group showed up at Griffin’s Coffee where we had a coffee and a small snack. Then we started our ride… first going to the ferry – lots of cars so we had to split many times. Short break at the ferry, crossing the river and continuing in Pudong. We decided to go as straight as possible to make it easy. Ugo’s bike had a small problem so after 20-25km we decided to improve his ride by adding one chain link as his was a bit too short and the tire was rubbing the seat tube (horizontal dropouts). After 5min of Josh’s magic we were back on the road. Pace was easy as we had crazy headwinds. We got lost a bit at the end but after asking Garmin for the way we reached THE SEA! It was fun. We found some balloons so everyone had to take a pic with them. Short break and we decided to go back. Same route just faster pace. We wished for some tailwinds but nothing happened… Still we reached (at least few of us) up to 52km/h. Josh was pushing nicely. Supertough! Finally we got back to the ferry. Crossed the river, started to ride and we found out that just 50m away there is an beach event! Spinning, dancing, yoga! SWEEEET! After spending some quality time there we had to go back home… Felix it was great meeting you and riding with you, especially today! Thanks and we wish you all the best back in Australia!
