Last Saturday there was a typhoon in Shanghai.
If all typhoons were like this one world would be a very nice place. Weather was almost perfect. It was windy (as it should during a typhoon) though. We started from Hongqiao Marriott as always. Pace in the beginning was nice and easy, but after second turn (to HQP) it started to be a race with majority of the Chinese breaking rules of safe cycling. We had to split in many groups, I stayed with slower one as I wanted to enjoy the weather and not to die. There were also a few situations with drivers trying to cut off cyclists (twice the police did this to us). Finally we managed to get to the Drinkstand in one piece. After short consultation small group went to Dianshan Lake and others went back home. Our lake group was doing quite well despite a very strong headwinds. Great views around the lake kept us going but in the end Mark (one of our riders) started to get cramps so again we had to split and I stayed with him for last 30km to make sure he was back home safe. Few pics from this ride:
